Jupiter contacts China's founding Pluto.

Today transiting Jupiter arrives directly upon the Pluto of the most-used founding chart of China. Read at the scale of the world, this touches centralised power and the machinery of the state. Historically, hard contacts of this kind coincide with the deep renegotiation of power, pressure at the root of who holds control.

A note on method, since this publication values it: this is one chart among a few proposed for China, and the sky suggests a theme, not an event. Watch the domain, not the headline, and remember a transit names a pressure, never a certainty.

Eleven days before the Warsaw Pact dissolved, the sky did exactly what it does on Tuesday

Jupiter reaches NATO's Pluto on Tuesday — the eighth time since the alliance was founded. Seven days later it crosses the People's Republic's Pluto, because the two charts were born five weeks apart and share it to within a degree.

Last Sunday we looked at Washington and a planet asking whether a thing was built on anything. This week we stay in the same city and change the subject entirely, because the chart in question was signed there too — and the planet arriving is not an inspector.

One chart in three thousand is built like this

He was born five hours after a full moon, with Neptune standing at right angles to it. Neptune has come back to square its own place, and the last pass is in December. Most charts are read against the moon. This one was born on it. The subject arrived on the seventeenth of March, 1984, on a Copenhagen afternoon, five hours after the moon came full.

Not near a full moon, in the loose way people mean it. Five hours. The Sun stood at twenty-seven degrees of Pisces and the Moon at the first degree of Libra, a hundred and seventy-seven degrees apart — the sky at its most legible, Sun and Moon facing each other across the whole chart with nothing in shadow.
